Larry Bacow, JD, MPP, PhD
Dr. Bacow is a former President of Tufts University and former Chancellor of MIT, and as of May 2011, serves as a member of the Harvard Corporation, the fiduciary body of Harvard University. A lawyer and economist, his scholarly interests lie at the intersection of environmental studies, law, economics, and policy. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has served in a range of government advisory positions. He has had many trusteeship roles, including chairing the Talloires Network, which aims to strengthen the civic roles of higher education institutions worldwide. Bacow received his BS in economics from MIT, his JD from Harvard Law School and his MPP and PhD from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
