Dr. Shtasel is the Executive Director of the Kraft Center for Community Health Leadership. She is a psychiatrist who has worked on the academic-community interface for the past thirty years and is deeply committed to providing access and care for underserved populations. She has held leadership positions in education and clinical services including the Director of Psychiatry Residency Education at the University of Pennsylvania, Chief of Adult Psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance, and Director of Ambulatory Psychiatry at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). She is currently the Director of the Division of Public and Community Psychiatry at MGH. Dr. Shtasel is a graduate of Swarthmore College, Temple University School of Medicine and the Harvard School of Public Health, and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School. She is a recipient of the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness and has been named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
